Supreme Leader's Representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Stresses Need to Improve the Academic Level and Necessary Skills of Caravans' Clerics

The Supreme Leader's Representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs emphasized the need to improve the academic level and missionary skills of clerics in Hajj Umrah and Atabat caravans.

According to Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, in a meeting of representatives of the Qom Seminary’s Students and Scholars’ Assembly, told a story about the virtue and status of serving pilgrims, and said that the target audience of the clerics of the Hajj, Umrah and Atabat caravans are religious and God-seeking people, and certainly serving them sincerely brings great rewards and rewards.

He pointed to the important mission of the caravan clerics, and said that the clerics of the Hajj and Atabat caravans have always been hardworking, up-to-date, and responsive to different segments of pilgrims in different circumstances, and considering the social and cultural developments and media available to the public, it is appropriate for the clerics of the Hajj, Umrah and Atabat caravans to increase their scientific and skill levels in order to update their service capabilities.

In another part of his speech, the head of Iranian pilgrims addressed the various Hajj programs for 1403, and said that among the programs carried out last year to protect the health of pilgrims was the holding of specialized meetings by the Academy of Medical Sciences, the Hajj Medical Center, and a group of jurisprudential experts, which led to the development of regulations and criteria for physical fitness for performing Hajj. "In the last Hajj, we witnessed a 36 percent reduction in the number of deaths and fewer physical problems for pilgrims."

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab noted that this year's Hajj was very different from the past due to the special restrictions imposed by the host country, and fortunately, with the measures taken, Hajj programs, including the disavowal of pagans ceremony, were held more widely than in previous years by Shiite and Sunni pilgrims.

"We hope that with the assistance of the host country, we will be able to use the capacity of Taif Airport to transport pilgrims to Medina in the upcoming Hajj, which will reduce the fatigue of the pilgrims and is a real example of serving the pilgrims. This plan has been implemented on a trial basis for several weeks in the Umrah operation," he added.

He pointed to the reduction in the number of cultural and administrative servants and said, "Among the implemented programs is the reduction in the number of servants and agents and the increase in the number of pilgrims, which in the last Hajj compared to 1398, we had an increase of about 7 caravans of pilgrims. In this plan, some delegations of the Most Revered Religious Leaders also cooperated well, which we need to thank them for."

In the continuation of this meeting, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab answered various questions from the representatives of the students and scholars of the Qom Seminary.

At the beginning of this meeting, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Jalal Razavi Mehr, the head of the Assembly of Representatives of the Students and Scholars of the Qom Seminary, announced the readiness of the members of this Assembly to cooperate with the mission of the Supreme Leader and reminded that every year a group of representatives of the students are responsible for providing cultural and guidance services to the pilgrims of the House of God during the Hajj.
